Consumer Critique: Chippin Dog Food

I recently had the chance to try out some pet food from Chippin Dog Food, a unique brand that is trying to make a difference for the planet as well as for pets.

First off, my dog loved the food and treats. She's not terribly picky, but she was super eager to eat the food we got and seemed to prefer it (maybe just because it was new, but still, she loved it).

The food is formulated to use far fewer resources than other dog foods. The protein comes from crickets or silver carp (which is an invasive species in rivers). Why? According to their website, pets form the United States are #5 in terms of global meat eaters, when compared to human populations of countries (as a data person, I'd love to look more into that). By using crickets and silver carp, they can reduce the amount of land dedicated to farming other animals.

Right now you can only find Chippin in a few stores across the United States (I'd have to drive 20 minutes to get to our nearest one), but you can also shop online if you're interested in checking it out!
