I recently had a chance to read
The Troubled Girls of Dragomir Academy, an interesting book thatincorporates magic and fantasy with real-life themes of heroism, bravery, friendship, self-confidence, and trust. In the book, Marya is taken away after a disaster happens at home when she ruins her brother's chance of holding a very important position. She's taken to Dragomir Academy, a strict academy that promises to turn the girls into proper girls with career opportunities.
All is not as it seems, though. The men who hold the power of magic are hiding something, and Marya eventually makes a discovery that upends the traditional way of life.
It was a good book. I enjoyed it a lot, even reading it as an adult. My daughter absolutely loved it. It had magic and fantasy, strong female characters, a little bit of mystery, and more!
