Book Nook: Welcome to Planet Earth

Retired teacher Simon Blanchard’s ‘Welcome to Planet Earth’ was written to welcome his first grandchild into the world. It is categorised as a children's book but, as Simon explains, it is more for new parents, grandparents and all those who care for and are in a position to teach young children about the wonders of life and the universe. With Christmas on the horizon, this cleverly illustrated picture book by young artist Rebecca Flitcroft would make an ideal gift.

An inspiring and positive introduction to our world for adults to share with children as they grow up. Looking back through history and imagining our future 'Welcome to Planet Earth' by Simon Blanchard and professionally illustrated by Rebecca Flitcroft - the author’s niece - takes us on a journey exploring all the wondrous possibilities open to a child.
