With MyArkit, users can upload photos and videos, include a date and description, and archive the memories for 100 years or more. MyArkit allows users to take that disorganized stream of photos and videos and organize it to preserve the memories for future generations.
Save photos, videos, and even health information with the peace of mind that all information is secure and encrypted through Amazon Web Services. With MyArkit, permissions are incorporated into each archived item, allowing the owner to control who can view the information. The standard 10 GB plan can store up to 5,000 images or three hours of video. Higher GB plans are available.
“We give individuals control over their life story. We empower people to share their legacy in their own words. We provide future generations with the stories and the history of their past,” Gebhardt said.

Why was MyArkit created?
Actually it was out of necessity. Back in the mid 90’s we loaded up the kids and headed back to Iowa where my father lived. I had a video camera for the trip and I sat him down for about an hour and just asked questions about his life. It was great. In a few years my father had passed away. I thought it would be great to make a DVD of his interview, so I did. We also found out that the family photo album was barely saved from being thrown in the trash by accident. I started looking around to find a good way of preserving and passing down family memories. The seed was planted for MyArkit.
Why is it important for people to consider options for storing digital memories?
Simple, You’re either going to be Deleted, Censored, or Lost.
Cloud storage has a INACTIVE timer going, if you don’t use it, then you're deleted.
Social Media, at their judgment will Censor you or drop you altogether.
All your devices and backups will either fail, or be Lost over time.
What kinds of things do people often overlook when Archiving?
The biggest one thing is that they save thousands of moments with no attached meaning. Imagine seeing a picture of grandpa holding up his Purple Heart Medal, without the attached story it’s just a picture.
