Caring Causes: Zappos

Zappos.com is planning to spread a little cheer this year:

  • Zappos’ Santa Line. For the second year in a row, Zappos will be offering 1,000 virtual sessions with Santa this year for anyone and their children who cannot make it to their nearest mall. Beginning December 11 through December 23, customers can reserve 10-minute video appointments through the Zappos homepage with Santa at no cost. In fact, Zappos plans to donate $5 for every session booked to The Salvation Army Southern Nevada, in addition to the $20,000 donation the company is making to the organization this year.

Additionally, for Giving Tuesday on 11/30, Zappos will be launching its Goods for Good Campaign, highlighting brands who are making a difference and helping build a better place for us all. This year, the campaign’s top initiatives will include:

  • Give and give back. On 11/30, Zappos will release a comprehensive gift guide highlighting 30 brands and up to 75 different products that give back in different ways, where $5 for every net item purchased up to $20,000 will be donated to Soles4Souls’s 4EveryKid program which aims to provide every homeless child in the U.S. with a pair of athletic shoes. This is in addition to the $30,000 donation Zappos will give to Soles4Souls 4EveryKid this year.
  • Pets need some love, too. Zappos will support Wilderdog, one of its pet brands, for its special Giving Tuesday social contest on Instagram where customers can nominate their favorite animal shelter of the month for December. Zappos will donate $10,000 worth of pet products to the winning shelter. Zappos and its employees will additionally be doing a product drive and donation to three local Nevada shelters: Hearts Alive Village, National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Animal Foundation.
