Fun Freetime: DIY Holiday Crafts

With the cold weather outside, we could all use some ideas to keep us entertained inside the house – and holiday crafts are the perfect way to pass time and add some holiday flair to your home! If you’ve run out of holiday activities, check out TheSoul Publishing’s newest video up on popular YouTube channel 5-Minute Crafts, full of fun DIY holiday crafts that will keep family members of all ages entertained. I’ve listed a few ideas from the video below:

  • Use green pipe cleaners to create super cute Christmas tree earrings! You’ll need two green pipe cleaners, some shepherd hook earring posts, gems, and hot glue. Twist the pipe cleaners into spiral tree shapes, then glue some gems on to look like ornaments, and twist the pipe cleaner tops onto the earring hooks. These are the perfect accessory for any holiday party! (0:17)
  • Use walnut shells to make cute reindeer ornaments! Take two walnut shells, and glue them together with some felt antlers and a looped ribbon between. Draw on a face, glue on a red cotton ball nose, and voila! These cute ornaments make the perfect gift or decoration for your home. (8:08)
  • Use tie dye to make the perfect holiday party shirt! First, fold a white t-shirt in half vertically, and draw one half of a holiday shape of your choice – a Christmas tree works great – in the center of the shirt. Rubber band your shape, then separately rubber band the rest of the shirt. Use contrasting colors for your shape and the shirt, and follow typical tie dying steps to finish. (15:06)
