Women are world makers; single mothers are miracle workers. If you're looking to give back, you can consider a 2023 Jeremiah Program Calendar ($9.99) from leading non-profit organization Jeremiah Program (JP), offering one of the nation’s most successful strategies to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children, two generations at a time
For the second annual year, this artfully designed piece quotes well-known public figures and JP Alumni Fellows to honor strong and influential women who inspire us.
The money raised from this calendar will help support JP and its mission by providing resources and support for moms to author life-changing opportunities for their families and kids. The calendar will be available for purchase on JP’s website on September 24th.
Jeremiah Program offers one of the nation’s most innovative and successful strategies to help single mothers achieve financial and occupational success. By providing a combination of early childhood education, childcare, a safe and affordable place to live, empowerment and life skills training, JP has successfully impacted the lives of more than 4,000+ single mothers and their children since it was founded nearly 25 years ago. The organization currently serves more than 1,500 single mothers and their young children every year at nine campuses across the country in Austin, TX; Brooklyn, NY; Boston, MA; Fargo, ND-Moorhead, MN; Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN; and Rochester, MN with the newest campuses in Las Vegas, NV and Baltimore, MD.
The JP experience provides resources and support for moms to author life-changing opportunities for their families and their kids. JP’s signature Empowerment and Leadership course (E&L), lasts 12 weeks and moms reflect on the arcane narratives placed on low-income women, especially women of color and mothers, and reassert their role as experts in their own lives and leaders in their communities. They begin exploring new possibilities and goals for themselves within a supportive community of other single mothers. After completing E&L, JP’s programming ensures families have access to the resources every family needs to thrive: stable housing in JP’s affordable housing units or through community housing partners, career-track education at a local postsecondary institution, exceptional early learning experiences for children, career development support and mentoring, and a supportive community.
