Music Minute: Madison Kozak - Loud House

Nothing hits home like a song about the one you grew up in. For Songs & Daughters songbird Madison Kozak, brand new self-penned release “Loud House” is that song, available everywhere.

Written by Kozak with Aaron Eshuis and Emily Falvey and produced by Chris LaCorte, "Loud House" paints a detailed portrait of Kozak's lived experience as one of eight kids in a house filled to the brim, literally and figuratively; a house that laid the foundation for the artist she's become today. While there is tenderness to it, Kozak doesn't sugarcoat her upbringing, including a nuanced look at how families don't always get along.

“I grew up in a household with seven brothers and sisters, and with that came a combination of bitter and sweet moments that we had living under one roof," Kozak reminisces. "When I moved from my hometown in Ontario to Tennessee at 14, I was in such a rush to chase the Nashville dream that the homesickness didn't set in until a few months later; it eventually really weighed on me all that I was leaving behind. 'Loud House' is sort of my coming of age story, growing up in a big family and the big feelings that come with leaving home for the first time. I hope you relate to it and love it as much as I do.”

Bringing the story to life on screen, the official music video for the reminiscent ballad premiered exclusively with Holler earlier this week, with the outlet raving that the nostalgic release is “a full circle moment that looks back on growing up and the heartache of leaving home to chase that dream you want so badly. With this song alone, Kozak proves it was totally worth the pain.” Read more and watch here.

Sunday (8/7), Kozak heads home to her native Canada for their raucous, raved about country music festival Boots and Hearts in Oro before tackling Lasso Montreal the following weekend (8/13). Then, she'll return to Nashville for her first time back at the Grand Ole Opry since her standing ovation-earning debut in 2019. See her in the circle August 27, tickets here.

ABOUT MADISON KOZAK
“Sharp, swooning, and all the right kinds of sentimental” (Rolling Stone), blossoming singer/songwriter Madison Kozak mesmerizes listeners with a strong pen and a vulnerable voice. Her breakout debut single, “First Last Name,” not only scored the Belmont alum a publishing deal with Big Loud in 2018, but compelled award-winning songwriter Nicolle Galyon to launch female-driven label Songs & Daughters, and sign Kozak as their flagship artist. In the months following her signings, Kozak graduated with a music business degree, toured the U.S. and Canada with Morgan Evans, Aaron Watson, and Mason Ramsey, and made her Grand Ole Opry debut to a standing ovation. Named to CMT's 2021 Listen Up roster and 2020 Next Women of Country class, the Lindsay, Ontario native was named a country artist to watch by PandoraPop CultureSounds Like Nashville, and more. Kozak returns with a taste of “a voice that glows and songwriting capability that resonates” (Sounds Like Nashville) on her first new music releases in over two and a half years, “If We Were A Country Song,” “One Girl To Another,” and “Loud House.”
