Contest: Happy Money Essays

Money and happiness expert Ken Honda is a bestselling self-development author in Japan, with book sales surpassing eight million copies since 2001, including from his latest, “Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace With Your Money” (2019, Simon & Schuster). To celebrate 20 years as an author, Ken is holding an essay contest and will award prizes to dozens of top winners.

October marks the 20th anniversary of when Ken published his first free booklet, “8 Steps to Happiness and Prosperity” in Japanese back in 2001. Today he is celebrating two decades of writing and speaking on the topics of money and happiness by inviting his readers to share how he has changed their lives for the better.

“This essay contest was my idea to give something back to all of you who have given so much to me as a way to celebrate my 20th anniversary as an author,” Ken says. ‘“Although I’ve been very active in Japanese over these 20 years, I’ve only just gotten started in English since the publication of my book, ‘Happy Money’ in 2019. I’m still so touched by the people who reach out to me to tell me how my work has changed their lives for the better.”

Prizes:

  • One winner will get a 15-minute private conversation with Ken
  • 5 winners will get free access to his new course the Happy Money Healing Program
  • 10 winners will get copies of Happy Money
  • 20 winners will get one of Ken’s special ballpoint pens.

Deadline: The contest closes on Sept. 28 for the English version (essays can be sent late though)
