Enriching Education: High School Students' Thoughts About Loan Forgiveness

 Brainly, the world’s largest online learning platform and homework help community,  polled almost 1000 high school students (grades 9, 10, 11, and 12) across the country about loan forgiveness and found the following insights:  

 
>> 59.6% of students said money is a concern when it comes to college. 
 
>> 63.5% of students say the elimination of student loans would make college more appealing to them.  
 
>> When asked how their current college plans would be affected, 55% of high school students said they would be able to apply to college, look at out of state colleges, and afford to go to private colleges if student loans were eliminated. 
 
>>28.3% of students said if student loans were eliminated their current college plans WOULD NOT be affected, however they would feel relieved that their costs may be lower. 
 
>> If students had extra money in college, 52.5% of high school students polled believe they would spend it on housing and food the most. 
 
>> When broken down by grade, ONLY 58% of Seniors polled plan to apply to college, as opposed to 70% of Freshmen, 69% of Sophomores, and 66% of Juniors.
