I recently had the chance to review MARY’S VOICE by Amy Orr-Ewing. This was a thought-provoking book, intended to walk readers through the advent season with Mary, the mother of Jesus. Although a central figure in the nativity story, not as much is known about her as other characters. I really enjoyed reading this book, which drew on what Mary's perspectives may have been. Obviously there's no way of knowing for sure, but by incorporating what we do know about the story and culture of the time, it's a book that can really help set the stage for the Christmas story by adding a little different focus. As the mother of two girls, we really appreciated being able to look at things from a woman's perspective.
