The World Premiere
The Garden
Book, Music, and Lyrics by Hannah Baake

The Garden is the world’s first music venue, the genesis of honkytonks, an electric cozy place where creation begins, and woman finds her voice. It’s a story old as time told through the lens of Eve’s self–discovery and resolve. This bluegrass, backwoods revival takes you on a journey of what it means to be imperfectly perfect.

Performance Dates: August 9 at 7pm and August 10 at 2pm and 7pm

STATEMENT OF INCLUSION
As part of Children’s Theatre Company’s commitment to access and inclusion, Theatre Arts Training makes intentional choices in our classroom practices to make sure we are a welcoming space for peoples of all ability, ethnicity, economic status, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Our program includes need–based scholarships, all–gender restrooms, introductions with pronouns, and a faculty happy to work with families to meet students’ individual physical, learning, and social needs. If there are ways, we can be more welcoming to your family, please let us know at education@childrenstheatre.org.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Theatre Arts Training is a process–based program dedicated to providing professional theatre experiences and education to build curious, creative, and confident young artists and people. We are more interested in what happens along the journey, from the first day to the last, than in a polished product. With this focus on the education experience, our camps take place in classrooms and rehearsal halls, not on stages.

All students are welcome to participate in all classes (except for audition–based programs). We acknowledge and support that engagement and success looks different for each student, and our faculty prioritizes keeping their teaching style, activities, and goals flexible to the needs of our students.

Theatre Arts Training’s Scholarship Program: Made Possible by You
At Children’s Theatre Company, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the arts–to learn, grow and discover themselves. But for many families, this exploration is not financially possible. Please consider a donation to help support our Theatre Arts Training Scholarship program. Your gift will help a child live out their dream. Every dollar counts–if we all do a little, we all do a lot. Thank you.
