The Paley Center for Media is currently running two incredible exhibits.
Paley Celebrates National Geographic’s Genius: MLK/X—Two Minds, One Movement
The Paley Museum is celebrating Black History Month with the New York premiere of the latest installment of National Geographic’s Emmy-winning Genius franchise, Genius: MLK/X, which focuses on two Black icons—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X—and how their dueling philosophies helped usher America through the Civil Rights movement. This riveting exhibition, with authentic costumes, props, and set decorations from the series, provides a window for visitors to transport themselves into the heart of the 1960s Civil Rights movement chronicled in Genius: MLK/X.
Beyond the Big Game
The Paley Museum is also celebrating Super Bowl LVIII with the blockbuster exhibit: Beyond the Big Game. This unprecedented exhibit, in partnership with the National Football League (NFL) and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, pays tribute to the Super Bowl, and for the first time ever, includes a showcase of memorable Super Bowl commercials from the past 50 years. Visitors will have the opportunity for unique and lasting photo moments with the storied Vince Lombardi Trophy and all 57 team rings from each championship-winning team. There will also be rare artifacts on display including game balls and uniforms from past Super Bowl games on loan from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The exhibit will also feature over 150 photos of iconic, thrilling Super Bowl moments, screenings of some of the greatest Super Bowl plays and past Super Bowl games featuring those won by the New York Giants and Jets, Super Bowl Halftime Shows, as well as the historical and exciting showcase of memorable Super Bowl commercials.
Both exhibits are open Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm - 6pm through March 3, 2024. The Paley Museum is located at 25 West 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019.
