Music Minute - T.G. Sheppard and Kelly Lang: You're Still the One

Country music icon T.G. Sheppard and acclaimed singer-songwriter/author Kelly Lang join forces once again for their first single, “You’re Still The One,” from their upcoming duets album to be released later this spring. Initially released by Shania Twain in 1998, “You’re Still The One” remains one of Twain’s biggest hits. Never released as a duet, Sheppard and Lang have been fans of the song for years, often singing it to each other privately around their home, making it the perfect single for Valentine’s Day! Premiered by Cowboys & Indians, “You’re Still The One” can be heard on all streaming platforms.

“After the success of our first duet album, ‘Iconic Duets,’ people have been asking when we would be recording another album together,” shares Sheppard. “We decided over a year and a half ago to start selecting our favorite songs from the past and begin the new album. We believe and are hopeful that the songs we have picked will also be everyone’s favorites as well. Kelly and I both feel being that it's Valentine’s season, it would be the perfect time to release the first single, “You’re Still The One,” for all the romantics. Also, we’d like to send a special thanks to Gus Arrendale and Springer Mountain Farms for always supporting our music.”

Sheppard recently celebrated the 40th Anniversary of his #1 hit single "Slow Burn," which was released in September 1983 and was the title track of the hit album as well. With 21 #1 hits total "Slow Burn" became Sheppard’s thirteenth number-one hit, spending fourteen weeks in the Top 40. The album also included the popular singles "Somewhere Down The Line" and "Make My Day" with Clint Eastwood, which was added to the record for a re-release in February 1984 and used in the hit film 'Sudden Impact' starring Eastwood. Produced by Jim Ed Norman and written by Charlie Black and Tommy Rocco, "Slow Burn" remains one of Sheppard's most requested songs to date. He is ranked amongst Billboard's Top 100 country artists of all time.

Lang, a nineteen-year breast cancer survivor, recently made her official Grand Ole Opry debut for Opry Goes Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Opry Goes Pink raises money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to aid in the fight against breast cancer. Her latest album, ‘Dragonfly’ contains twelve songs, nine of which are self-penned, including her popular singles "I'm Not Going Anywhere" and "I Think It's Jesus." 'Dragonfly' also contains classic hymns such as "Amazing Grace" and "Jesus Loves Me / I Surrender All." ‘Dragonfly’ also includes her powerful song, "Life Sentence," about cancer, which Lang and her fans have faced together. Lang's positive attitude towards her own battle with breast cancer gives hope to others dealing with similar situations.
