Music Minute - Terri Clark: Now That I Found You (with Ben Rector)

Country icon Terri Clark introduces the second duet from Terri Clark: Take Two today, as she teams up with Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Ben Rector for “Now That I Found You.” The full eight-song project, arriving Friday, May 31, reimagines the Country chart-topper's biggest hits with new voices including Lauren Alaina, Paul Brandt, Kelly Clarkson, Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Ben Rector and Lainey Wilson.

“I've been a fan of Ben Rector for a while now,” says Clark. “He's a brilliant singer, songster and musician with a talent truly out of this world. 'Now That I Found You' was originally written as a pop song, and when I recorded it in 1998, I hesitated cutting it for that reason. When it became a Country hit, I saw how much it resonated with people and now many years later it's come full circle as a duet with Ben. Ben's influence on this track and his astounding vocals are just magic, and to say it was an honor working with him would be an understatement. I really wanted to do this duet with a guy outside of the Country genre and he truly exceeded my expectations. He gave new life to the song with a completely fresh perspective. It feels like it was always meant to be a duet.”

Today's release, “Now That I Found You,” sees the powerhouse vocalists celebrating a growing relationship that triumphs over past heartbreaks. While the original chart-topping hit displayed a guitar-laced melody, the ballad now features a prominent piano as the guiding instrument. The addition of prolific pop artist Rector moves this into true duet territory, shifting to now feature both the male and female perspective of a budding relationship.

Released via Mercury Nashville/UMe, Terri Clark: Take Two is the next chapter in Clark's long history of accolades. The celebrated singer-songwriter continues to bolster her legendary status in Country music as she rewinds the clock to visit the iconic tracks that all reached the Top Ten on the Country charts at the time of their release. Her “independent-minded ethos has proven an influence on a new generation of artists” (Billboard) as she teams up with today's top hitmakers. The already-released “Better Things To Do” (featuring Ashley McBryde) showcases the female powerhouses teaming up for a fresh version that “raises the bar with a completely new production, making for an epic modern-day honky-tonk anthem with that same nostalgic flair that the original boasts” (Country Now).

In addition to the duets album, Clark's Greatest Hits vinyl will also be available for purchase on Take Two's release day. Taking vinyl form for the first time, the 14-song collection will commemorate its 20th anniversary this year featuring Clark's Top 10 singles, including the No. 1 hit, “You're Easy on the Eyes.”

The Country legend carries the moment on the road as she announces her first-ever headlining show at the Ryman Auditorium on Thursday, August 29.
