From “sugar” to “dumpling,” from “baby cakes” to “cuddly muffin,” we all have those special nicknames we’ve given to our special person 
English classes platform Preply recently surveyed couples across America and asked the unthinkable: what are their private pet nicknames for each other? Do we regret asking? Yes we do.
Key Findings:
New York, Virginia, and Nevada residents are most likely to use nicknames with their partners.
Minnesota, Colorado, and Massachusetts residents are least likely to use nicknames with their partners.
“Babe,” “love,” and “honey” are the most popular nicknames in the U.S.
Nearly 1 in 4 Americans think their partner is upset with them when they call them by their first name instead of pet name.
69% of Americans think using pet names strengthens their relationship.
More than a third of Americans admit to using the same pet names for past and current partners.
