Are you interested in checking out The Unbreakable Boy? I had a chance to see a screener for this family film, starring Zachary Levi, Meghann Fahy, and Patricia Heaton.
When parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become “unbreakable,” finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times — an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!
As a parent of an autistic child, I appreciate seeing realistic portrayals of autism in film and TV. Obviously everyone's autism journey is important, but everyone who has ever been a parent or caregiver for a child with special needs will recognize the importance of finding joy and gratitude, sometimes in unexpected places.
