A new report by Birth Injury Lawyers Group ranks the Top 10 States with the most birthing-friendly hospitals, using data from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Alaska ranks top with 7.5 birthing-friendly hospitals per 100,000 females aged 15-44.
Montana and Maine rank second and third, with 7.1 and 6.8 hospitals per 100,000 females aged 15 to 44, respectively.
Maryland is the least birthing-friendly state, with 1.3 birthing-friendly hospitals and medical centers per 100,000 females aged 15-44.
This study aims to help expectant parents identify where quality maternal care is most readily available as they prepare for hospital births.
