Best Money's new study surveyed 2,400 Americans about their frugal habits and revealed the most popular ways people save:
95% buy store brands or generics.
88% use coupons, promo codes, or price matching.
83% use cash-back, receipt apps, or rewards programs.
71% paused or canceled subscriptions.
Frugality is highest when shopping for clothing, groceries, entertainment, and subscriptions.
Seattle, Denver, and Phoenix are leading the nation in putting these tactics into practice.
