From graduations and recitals to spring cleaning and summer prep, parents are increasingly turning to local pros to help manage the chaos and reclaim their time. Yelp’s report highlights some of the biggest “Maycember” trends based on surging consumer demand, including:
- The Great Declutter: As backpacks overflow and schedules stack up, searches for home organization services skyrocketed 767% from April to May, while handyman project requests jumped 200%.
- The Backyard Reset: Families are getting outdoor-ready for summer, with gardening and landscape maintenance requests surging 158% year-over-year and pool cleaning up 214%—their highest point of the year in May.
- Spring Cleaning Shift: Home cleaning requests rose 400% month-over-month as families outsource chores to keep up with packed calendars.
- Gifting Memories: Family photography is on the rise, with searches up 25% month-over-month and 21% year-over-year showing a shift toward capturing moments over giving material gifts.
