My parents were going to take us out to eat the other day. They took my daughter to a playground and played for a while so we could get stuff done, then we went to the restaurant. On the way, we had the following conversation with our 3-year-old:
"I want to go with Oma & Opa!"
"We'll see them at the restaurant."
"But I don't want you to come!"
"Why not?"
"Because I love Oma & Opa!"
"Don't you love us?"
"No, I love Oma & Opa!"
"But you can love more than one person."
"No I can't" (in a singsong voice).
"Sure you can. I love you, and I love Oma & Opa too."
"No, YOU can't love Oma & Opa. I love Oma & Opa!"
How did your kids discover that you can love more than one person?
