Consumer Critique: The True Story of Puss 'N Boots

I recently had the opportunity to watch The True Story of Puss 'N Boots through Team Mom. I have to say, I had no idea what to expect. I knew that there was a similar movie coming out around the same time, but that was about it.

First of all, it's not like a typical Disney rendition of a fairy tale, in animation or in story style. It's more like a European-style fairy tale, so it's a little darker. If you're a fan of classical music - or have ever heard any at all - you'll recognize some of the music that gets used, which made it fun to watch and got songs stuck in my head all day. The cat's voice (William Shatner) is a little annoying, but not too bad after a while - I hardly noticed it by the middle of the movie. My kids liked it, especially my preschooler who loves all things princess and fairytale!

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the film to facilitate this review.
