When I was in high school, WWJD? bracelets (what would Jesus do?) because extremely popular. There's a book out that takes it one step further - instead of asking readers to think of what Jesus would do in certain circumstances, he tells readers the amazing possibility they have as Christians to do what Jesus actually did, miracles and all.
Do What Jesus Did: A Real-Life Field Guide to Healing the Sick, Routing Demons and Changing Lives Forever encourages readers to be ambitious. If Jesus did miracles, and the disciples in His day did miracles, why not us, right now? The book has many anecdotes of miraculous events performed by the author and those close to him. They're great stories, but seem hard to replicate. However, the author goes through the valid rationale for why miracles can still happen - and, a very important part, writes about what happens if they don't, using his own son and autism as an example. The book made me question the bounds of what really is possible, and makes me long for a faith like his. It is important to note that God's not an ATM God, or a genie granting wishes, and the author is up front about that, but how amazing would it be if all Christians had the faith to perform miracles!
