Caring Causes: UNICEF Committing to Child Survival

Melinda Gates of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation recently wrote about The Most Important Statistic in the World - child survival rates. A new UNICEF report, Committing to Child Survival: A Promise Renewed – Progress Report 2013, documents the decrease in deaths of children under five from 12.6 million in 1990 to 6.6 million in 2012. But 6.6 million is still a lot. Read the report to learn more about the issues facing the struggle against childhood deaths, many of which are due to preventable illnesses.
