with the diversity, traditional wisdom and cultural values they
remember from their own youth. The time-honored structure of the fable
lends its strength to their stories; animal characters reveal truth in
familiar patterns.
The book follows the wise chicken Shastriji who has an answer for everything - until the mean-spirited crow Kaalia comes along. The story is engaging and a great fable for mother's love and courage against bullying. There's gentle humor and suspense, and the strong moral lesson comes through very well.
