Book Nook: Give it a Go, Eat a Rainbow

Give it a Go, Eat a Rainbow is a new book from national kids' nutrition expert Kathryn Kemp Guylay. I had a chance to review this children's picture book about the "magic" of eating a colorful variety of fresh fruits and veggies. One neat thing about the book is that her son helped with the illustrations, and it's neat to see kids getting involved in sharing their talents for positive messages!

The book goes through each color, highlighting foods in each color family, and providing some of the nutrition benefits of those foods. Each page is not necessarily complete - one color does provide a lot more than one main benefit. However, the idea that a variety of foods are necessary for healthy bodies is clearly made in this book, in a way that kids can understand.

The website also has a resources page with educational resources for teachers and parents!
