I love reading books about being a Christian women, and it's also great to show my girls Biblical examples of faithful women, so I was happy to review Gritty and Graceful: 15 Inspiring Women of the Bible.
Although my girls are a little older than maybe the target audience is, it still was a good book to use as our evening devotion. The short snippets of the women are a great introduction for younger kids, and each one is accompanied by a Bible verse that captures a great element of the story. For older kids, it's easy to use the book as a launching point for discussion and further exploration into the context of the story and how the woman in the story really was amazing.
The women chosen represent a wide variety of backgrounds, from the first woman (Eve) to the mother of Jesus; from women of lower class (Rahab) to queens (Esther). It's a great look at strong heroines of the faith.
