The nights are getting shorter, but holiday spirits are ramping up. Three-time Grammy nominated and nationally touring Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could just released a fresh album of 13 cheery, all-original holiday songs, Revvin' Up the Reindeer. I had a chance to review this high-energy album with a variety of fun musical styles for kids and adults: classic rock, ska, Klezmer, children's choir, jazz, and more.
“The holiday season is my favorite time of year. It’s like the whole world is singin’, shinin’ and sayin’ hi!” says Brady. “After miles of twinkly lights untangled, menorahs lit with love and more than a few eggnogs poured, we couldn't be more excited to share these songs. I hope they’ll find a place on your family’s holiday playlist for years to come!”
Brady Rymer and the Little Band that Could will celebrate the album release with several all-ages concerts this fall, including the Music Center at Strathmore (Bethesda), the Sparta (NJ) Boardwalk, Growing Stage (NJ), and at libraries and schools. For details and updates, visit BradyRymer.com . |
More about Brady Rymer and the Little Band that Could
Brady Rymer is a three-time GRAMMY Award nominee and one of the top talents in the independent family music scene today. Originally with RCA Records band From Good Homes, Rymer ventured into family music with Good Morning, Gus in 2000. Since then, he has released nine albums, including 2017’s GRAMMY-nominated Press Play, 2015’s GRAMMY-nominated Just Say Hi! And the 2008 GRAMMY-nominated Here Comes Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could. Brady’s 2011 Parents’ Choice Gold Award winning CD Love Me for Who I Am, an appreciation of children of all abilities, was inspired by his experience working with kids with Autism and related disorders.
Rymer’s rootsy, accordion-laced pop and rock music regularly wins critical acclaim and national awards. Together with his longtime band mates in the Little Band That Could – outstanding players all, with backgrounds from Americana to Zydeco – he performs rockin’ live music for kids and families across the country. NPR’s All Things Considered noted that the Little Band That Could (featuring Claudia Mussen, Liz Queler, Seth Farber, Larry Eagle, Jeremy Chatzky and Dan Myers) “might just be the best sounding band in family music.”
