Book Nook: Shooting for the Stars

If you have a budding astronaut, then you'll love a book I recently got to review.

Shooting for the Stars teaches children the magic behind following ones dream.

Author Dr. Norah Patten has a dream to become Ireland’s first astronaut. This book brings children on a journey above the earth and into space. It touches on a lot of concepts with space travel, astronaut training, and life without gravity. It also touches on a citizen-science project to conduct research related to space.

Shooting for the Stars is a fun and engaging book about space and becoming an astronaut but most importantly a book about following your dreams no matter how big! It's not designed for people who already know a great deal about space, although they may find it interesting. A lot of the information is introductory level, although even I learned something from the book (Project PoSSUM).

It's a good book to inspire kids that are yearning to be astronauts and want to learn more about what that takes!
