Apparel and accessories company Out of Print is collaborating with the American Library Association (ALA) on the debut of its Disney Miss Piggy and Kermit Muppets READ® tees. The T-shirt will feature a vintage image of Miss Piggy and Kermit among the library stacks originally released in 1981 as part of ALA’s READ® poster campaign promoting literacy.
Available in adult unisex and adult women sizes, the tees can be purchased at Out of Print. The T-shirts are being introduced during Out of Print’s anniversary sale, and customers can get 20 percent off most products, including the entire ALA READ®collection. No code is required, and the promotion runs through January 31. A portion of sales from the READ® collection goes towards supporting ALA and its programs.
Out of Print also worked with ALA to launch the Star Wars™ READ®collection. It includes Yoda and Darth Vader tees, mugs and pins featuring poster designs from the 1980s and 90s. The Out of Print products were inspired by the READ® poster campaign, which is published by ALA Graphics. All of ALA’s current READ® posters can be found at the ALA Store: alastore.ala.org.
Since 2010, Out of Print’s mission has been to spread the joy of reading by transforming literary classics into bookish apparel and accessories. Every purchase helps Out of Print donate books and support literacy programs around the world.
The American Library Association is the foremost national organization providing resources to inspire library and information professionals to transform their communities through essential programs and services. For more than 140 years, the ALA has been the trusted voice of libraries, advocating for the profession and the library’s role in enhancing learning and ensuring access to information for all.
