Book Nook: Cuento de Luz

I recently had a chance to review a few books from Cuento de Luz, a children's book publisher with Spanish and English titles (and a few other languages as well).

The books I reviewed were quite unique. The first was Carmen, a book with a story that actually seems fairly dark for a children's book - but it's a reimagining of the Bizet opera, from the viewpoint of a child. In that context, it works quite well to introduce kids to a story with a little bit darker theme. The illustrations are beautifully done and capture the tone of the story perfectly.

A New Harvest was a very heartwarming book about overcoming challenges and creating community. It's the kind of community my older daughter would love to see some day and can really help kids explore the possibilities of what might happen when people work together.

If you're looking for rich, beautiful books for your kids, this is definitely a publishing company to consider!
