Enriching Education - Remake Learning: Moonshot Grants

Remake Learning has awarded Moonshot Grants to three new programs designed to pair students with different ability levels in eSports, robotics and career exploration:

  • Unified Esports for All: In collaboration with several other regional districts, Fox Chapel Area School District will launch a competitive unified esports league that brings together students with and without intellectual disabilities.
  • Bringing the spirit of the Special Olympics to Robotics: Woodland Hills School District will create a robotics career pipeline and host a unified robotics competition for teams of students with and without disabilities who will work together to demonstrate their learning.
  • Transforming Butler Main Street into a classroom: In partnership with the city of Butler, Butler Area School District will transform Butler Main Street into an immersive learning environment that leverages local resources to offer diverse and inclusive opportunities for all, especially those from underrepresented groups.

“By creating interconnected and inclusive learning environments that enable students of all backgrounds and abilities to collaborate, build essential skills, and envision new career pathways, these innovative projects promote mutual encouragement, empowerment, and empathy, as well as practical career-readiness,” said Tyler Samstag, Executive Director at Remake Learning.

Since 2021, Remake Learning has awarded over 50 Moonshot Grants, totaling more than $3.5 million invested in bold ideas that have the potential to shape the future of teaching and learning.

Support for Moonshot Grants is generously provided by The Grable Foundation and The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.
